Here is a reason for US Dollar rally in 2012

 If you need to have a fundamental reason for the US dollar rally to get very serious in 2012. Here you go.
Of course if the US Dollar rally does gets serious, then all those in countries pegged to the USD will NOT have the same reason to buy GOLD. If USD turns into 'sound money' then gold fundamentals weaken.
If the euro is crashing, and you are a European, what would you buy: Gold or USD? The answer will depend on our how serious the trend of Gold and USD appear. The more serious the USD rally the more funds it will attract, pure momentum will attract funds. Gold has gone up exponentially for years, and a 30% to 50% correction is very common in trending commodities, so why should gold be immune. We are watching the 1x1 Gann angle on gold and so should you.
Silver and gold are falling hard today. Silver always acts like the x wife so don't be surprised there...
But we aso agree with Marc Faber that if the SP500 prints 900 then everyone will be screaming for QE3. This will give Ben Bernanke a green light to do a massive QE program. This is why any gold sell off can only be considered a correction and NOT a trend change.
